Once winter has come and gone, I am always looking forwards to the new life that comes with Spring. After Spring cleaning is complete, I go on the search for fresh air, flowers a bloom, and a place to prepare my mind in this new season. I have created a Spring destination bucket list to share with you where I’d like and plan to spend my time in replenishing and rejuvenating the things in my life that need special attention.
First up…
Texas Hill Country

Before moving to Texas, I only knew about the major cities: Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, and Austin. I guess it’s not unlike how before moving to Italy, I was only familiar with Milan, Rome, Florence, and Venice. Texas Hill Country is a sweet slice of the American pie all its own and it spans from North of Austin to South of San Antonio.
Here you can find an array of farms with farm to table restaurants, bed and breakfast with amazing food, incredible nightlife, and several different culturally diverse activities to dive into. What I am most excited about checking out during my time here are the Texas Hill Country wineries. There are over 45 different wineries and certain times of the year they have a wine crawl where you pay a flat rate and you can do wine tastings at all of the participating wineries. This is my top Spring Destination Bucket List item for sure.
If you can’t make it to the Provence region in France to smell and walk through the lavender fields, there is an amazing Lavender Festival held every year in June in the Texas Hill Country area. Also, if you live for adventure and love the outdoors and also in the month of June is the Texas Water Safari, a large canoeing competition to join or watch from the sides.
Hotel: Horseshoe Bay Resort
Restaurant: The Oasis Restaurant and Bar
Must See: San Antonio Riverwalk
Carmel by the Sea, California

No need to go to Europe for a storybook village when you can just visit Carmel by the Sea. It looks as if it has been taken right out of a whimsy storybook with the flowers a bloom at the cottages in the town. You can find numerous beach side resorts, shopping places, wine tastings and cultural events.
Hotels: Carmel Valley Ranch
Restaurant: Dametra Cafe
Must See: Carmel Beach
New Orleans, Louisiana

Ah, this place is home sweet home as this is where my mother was born and her family still resides. There is nothing like strolling through the French Quarters on a sunny Spring day. This spring, you can attend the French Quarter Festival, Top Taco Fest, New Orleans Bourbon Fest, New Orleans Wine and Food Experience, and Jazz & Heritage Festival, just to name a few. Click Here to find more information on the happenings in the Crescent City.
Hotel: Omni Royal Orleans
Restaurant: Muriel’s Jackson Square

Snoqualmie, WA

Now when in the Seattle area, you will find that there are wonderful day trips to a million places. This should be one of them. Snoqualmie is a getaway for sure, the sweetness of it is the falls and the Lodge that overlooks it. When needing to rest and refresh this spring, keep Snoqualmie on your list.
